Product details

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is a new kind of engineering thermoplastics with more than 3 million viscosity-average molecular weight. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene pipe has superior performance over conventional HDPE pipe such as high wear resistance, impact resistance, and excellent resistance to internal pressure strength, resistance to environmental stress cracking, intrinsically self-lubricating, anti-adhesion, low temperature resistance and excellent chemical resistance.

Parameters

The nominal diameter of the UHMWPE pipes is from 65mm to 1200 mm, and the wall thickness is from 8mm to45mm usually. The nominal pressure rating of UHMWPE pipes etc. is from 0.6 MPa to 2.0 MPa and UHMWPE composite pipe can reach 6.4 MPa.

Product features

1, Abrasion resistance: UHMWPE pipes have excellent abrasion resistance providing long life in abrasive slurry applications.

2, 5X lower surface roughness( ISO 8295)

3, Increased temperature capability (particularly in the lower range) capable of -70℃ to +80 ℃ operation.

4, Comparable elongation performance.

5, Anti-aging agent reduces UV degradation by comparison and otherwise increases design life.

6, Colorless, odorless and non-toxic

7, Much higher corrosion resistivity, comparable to Teflon

8, Adders can be provided that make UHMWPE Flameproof(allowing for minimal degradation in environments where this is a factor, UHMWPE will still ignite at 300℃ but will immediately self-rectify)

9, Lighter and more durable, allowing for heavily reduced installation costs as large excavation and crane equipments will no longer be required.

10, Unlike other materials, UHMWPE is self-lubricating (part of why it is used as a ball material for hip joint replacement)

11, All this allows UHMWPE to improve on any process currently utilizing HDPE and most that include steel.
